Product Description
A very brilliantly colored phase of the Red Eared Slider; as their name implies, Rio Grande Red Ears originally come from the same South Texas water ways that produce several different very beautiful color phases of turtles. Even as adults, Rio Grandes maintain a very distinctly vibrant coloration that brightens up any turtle colony. Juveniles make very good starter turtles, they do well in tanks, and most set ups that have lots of water.
Rio Grande Red Ears behave essentially the same as normal Red Ears. They love to bask, and will even pile on top of each other for the best sunning position. In community set ups, it's often their example that quickens other species' taming down. Red Ears are omnivorous, eating pellets, most greens, insects, fish, mollusks etc.

Very Happy
I received my 2 baby sliders a week ago, added them to their new habitat I had setup for them and they're doing just great!! 1 of them did seem slow upon receiving and developed a white dot/speck on his nose which concerned me for a fungal infection. I reached out to TS and they did get back to me but by then I had already cured the issue. Just make sure you're ready to have these guys arrive! proper lights, proper water temps and most importantly proper water conditioning. They do and are able to eat the pellets I bought from here with them but they're not made for hatchlings, my guys tend to wait for them to soften and/or break them down in the water. I will be picking up hatchling food to aid them a bit but I'm happy with my entire purchase!

Baby red-eared
Purchased a Rio grande red-eared slider. Only been two days and my other small red-eared, walked up to my new one and she touched noise with new baby turtle. Package ? was tight and secured, got to me safely. Happy with my purchase!

Tons of personality!
Highly recommend. Turtle showed up, exactly as described. A day after acclimating to my tank, this guy was following me around and even taking food out of my hand. Very curious, and a great swimmer. Couldn’t be happier
