Description

Each year, only a handful of these unusual tortoises is hatched in the US. We make just a few available for keepers to enjoy. Mini versions of the flat & naturally flexible adults - these little tortoises are as remarkable in your hand as they are actively exploring their habitats. Their species description follows:

One of the oddest & rarest tortoises species ever seen, the African pancake tortoise actually has a soft plastron (bottom shell) which it contracts to fit into tight spaces. Full grown 5 - 6 inch adults can be just an inch thick...In time African pancake tortoises become quite friendly. One of the few species that love to climb, you can actually set up a 3 dimensional tank/pen for them.
