Description

Many Hypo/Pastel Red Eared Sliders are born with extra scutes /shell plates (as in the photos), and are otherwise in perfect condition. We're making these pretty turtles available at a discounted price. This is a perfect turtle to color up your tank with & their care and description is identical to their perfect counterparts and follows:

Just like Hypo/Pastel Yellow bellies, with one in a million colors, these turtles are like snowflakes, with no two ever exactly the same. Hypo Pastels need the same care as normal colored Red Ears, but, given their extreme rareness in nature, and high value, extra effort to safeguard their longevity is always a good idea... Ours are always very well started, and just like our Hypo/Pastel Yellow Bellies , they are well past the difficult early stages. These exceptionally colorful turtles are hardly ever available, and can be the prize of any collection.

Only a handful of the impressively colored Red Eared Sliders turn up each year - literally out of several million. They behave the same as normal Red Eared Sliders, and they otherwise have the same husbandry requirements which follow:

The most common turtle available the world over, Red Eared Sliders make excellent starter turtles, and adults will brighten up outdoor ponds in nearly all US temperature zones. They do well in tanks, water and land setups, and when kept with most other species.

They bask frequently, and will even pile on top of each other for the best sunning position. In community set ups, it's often the red ears example that quickens other species taming down. Red ears are omnivorous, eating pellets, most greens, insects, fish, mollusks etc.

*Please note that Virginia and Florida do not allow Red Eared Sliders to be possessed by the public - so we are not able to ship Red Eared Sliders to those states. Florida does have a special exception for the different color morphs including: Ghost Red Ears, Albino Red Ears and Hypo/Pastel Red Ears; all of which can be shipped to Florida destinations.
