TYPE: Mud and Musk Turtles | LEVEL: Advanced [?]
BASIC INFORMATION: The only species in their Genus Claudius, Angustatus are one of, if not the rarest captive bred turtles in the world. Found only in limited regions of Belize, Guatemala and Mexico, they are ferocious feeders, with very aggressive dispositions. They usually mellow and allow themselves to be handled without snapping. Claudius are capable of swimming backward, and even of cloacal respiration to supplement surface breathing. Prized the world over by turtle aficionados, Claudius are truly at the highest level of turtle keeping. They are available on only a very limited basis. We have only 4 Two year olds available now. Contact us to be placed on a waiting list for 2008 Claudius Angustatus offspring.
