Description

These tortoises were produced from a well established breeding group of both Red-foots and Yellow-foots. They are either a very unique color phase of Yellow-foots, or may very well be the first true hybrids of both species. We have shown these unusual tortoises to several knowledgable breeders, like George Ullman, who all say“they could be the first true hybrids.”The female who laid the eggs did so in secrecy, so the species of neither parent is known. Only 3 eggs were laid - all three hatched. All three siblings share the same extraordinary coloration on their shells and skin. High color, or Hybrid, either way a very rare and unique tortoise for any collection.

We have been caring for them the using the same husbandry techniques we use for both Yellow-foots and Red-foots. Refer to the descriptions and care sheets for those species to keep these tortoises.
