Mexican Giant Musk Turtle (Hatchlings): Staurotypus triporcatus

Description

Mexican Giant Musks are one of the very best tank turtles. Excellent swimmers, they do well in shallow water, and when raised with others of their kind, they get along just fine. They are incredible predators, and will pretty much eat what ever they can catch. We raise ours on fish, meat and pellets. They will also take some plants.

Featured in an article in the March 2008 issue of Reptiles Magazine, S. Triporcatus is the largest of the Mexican Giant Musk Turtles. They range from the Yucatan Peninsula, into parts of Honduras Guatemala and Belize.

If you're looking to keep a very hungry, little eating machine, with a great big head, Mexican Giant Musk Turtles are what you're looking for.

Bottom photo shows a hatchling about to emerge from his egg - We have several different sizes/ages of these turtles available - we can determine the gender of the largest size (4 - 5 inch, 3 year olds)
